Position Summary:

The controller is a vital function for Messenger Sports VISION + DESIGN + BUILD as this person keeps the company running smoothly and efficiently to help deliver on our promise to our customers and partners. The controller is passionate about maintaining smooth financial processes to manage cash flow, maintain vendor and customer relationships, and provide timely and accurate financial reporting.

What you will do:

• Manage the general ledger and chart of accounts

• Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statement and reporting

• Assist in financial forecasting

• Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable reports

• Record daily financial transactions and reconcile bank statements

• Run entire purchasing process from purchase order to invoice approval to payment

• Run entire accounts receivable process from sales order to invoice to receipt of payment

• Maintain reconciliations between accounting system and other systems, such as ShopVox

• Prepare and review company payroll

• Prepare sales tax and payroll tax returns

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

• 3-5 years of experience in related field

• Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Problem solving skills and the ability to connect to your teammates for solutions/remedies

Time-Off Benefits:

After 4 years of employment, you will accrue vacation at a rate of 3.08 hours for each pay period, (80 hours per year, or 2 weeks). In addition to your vacation accrual, you will receive twelve (12) paid holidays and you will receive forty (40) hours sick leave per year immediately upon hire.

At Messenger Sports VISION + DESIGN + BUILD we offer two regular work schedules: 8 hours/5 days per week or a 9 hours Monday thru Thursday and a 4 hour Friday. Within these hours we offer a hybrid work model of in office and remote working.

• Assist in planning and executing all in-house or off-site activities of the company

• Assist in travel planning and booking for employees based in the office and remote

• Assist in financial transactions, which may include making deposits, sending invoices and paying bills

• Generally, assist office staff with tasks and duties

• At all times, deliver service with a great attitude and high professional standards
